First, here are some information about the original Mig program.
The latest updates of this page is available on my web site.
Now that you know what Mig exactly is, you will easily understand that this page is about Mig for HP38/39/40.
This port has been written by Khanh-Dang Nguyen Thu-Lam (kdntl at yahoo. fr).
Currently, Mig for HP38/39/40 is an experimental program. There may be some bug that could crash your calculator. You've been warned!
You can install Mig for HP38 like any aplet. Just use your usual transfer program, such as HPGComm.
For HP39/40, you currently have to use Xmodem in order to transfer both the aplet (file Mig00000.039) and the library (file LIB1053L.039) to your HP39/40. In the aplets list, select [RECV], then choose "HP39/40 (Wire)". You can now send one of the two files with a Xmodem software (the transfer parameters are 9600 8-N-1), such as HyperTerminal (available in Microsoft Windows). Then, do the same for the other file.
If you want to use Xmodem with HP38, you have to install the Xmodem aplet first. You may read the documentation in the package in order to transfer the files Mig00000.038 and LIB1053L.038.
Just start the aplet as you used to do with other aplets. Then, choose one song and select [PLAY]. Currently, there are 18 songs in the HP39/40 aplet, so that this latter is quite big (37 KB). The HP38 version have less songs (6 KB only because the HP38 needs memory space to work correcly). In next versions, you will be able to download new songs, or delete the one you dislike.
When the music is being played, the screen is off (for speed increasing purpose), so don't worry about this.
There are some keys you can use:
If the program seems to hang (because of a bug), you can press [ON]+[F3] (press the two keys simultaneaously) in order to reboot the calc (this doesn't clear your memory).
